Description: This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) solicits Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant applications from small business concerns (SBCs) that propose preclinical studies to advance the development of biomarkers or treatments for rare musculoskeletal, rheumatic or skin diseases. Rare diseases have a prevalence of fewer than 200,000 affected individuals in the United States. Also eligible for potential funding through this initiative are studies of FDA-designated orphan products for musculoskeletal, rheumatic or skin diseases.
